National Council Webinar: Effective Strategies for Managing Chronic Pain and Reducing Opioid Usage

Event Date: January 25, 2017

America’s opiate crisis is pushing for a new dialogue on how to treat complex patients with multiple diagnoses—particularly chronic pain. Behavioral healthcare professionals are a critical part of this dialogue since solutions like cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness are being recognized in research trials as more safe and effective than opiates when treating chronic pain issues.

The upcoming webinar, hosted by the National Council for Behavioral Health, will include a range of experts sharing practical, non-pharmacological strategies for treating chronic pain and the often co-occurring conditions of depression and addiction. Also discussed will be ways for providers to leverage the over $500M in grants for addressing opioid abuse soon available under the 21st Century Cures Act.
